Much Ado about Tags

One of the first things that I did while conceptualizing 4th + Fir was designing the cotton tags that are sewn into each and every scrunchie. It made the project feel special, knowing that I could create a little something to ensure that my scrunchies could be identified after purchase. Having a cute little tree was definitely an added bonus.

4th + Fir’s new cotton tags

There are so many companies that print out bulk tags, and while they make beautiful items, it was difficult for me to find one that provided 100% cotton labels in the size that I originally wanted. As a generally take-charge kind of woman, I took things into my own two hands and decided to do it myself. Thus, many hours have been spent puttering around on design programs, printing out transfer paper and ironing them onto metres upon metres cotton ribbon.

Tags from late 2020-2023

The tags that I used for the last three years were the second iteration (if you have a scrunchie from around August-November 2020, you’re the proud owner of a first edition).

Recently, a change felt necessary. The new tags are made from the same material but are smaller in profile and text - I hope that you love them as much as I do.

Due to the handmade nature of 4th + Fir’s offerings, you may find slight differences between tag batches. Whether things aren’t perfectly centred or might be a different size, it’s all part of the evolution process, and I’m so pleased that you’re along for the ride!
